Center of well being

Sama Villa is open to people who wish to rediscover their inner peace and inner happiness. We provide accomodation in three rooms of the Villa and cooking facilities are available. Possibility to practice Mindfulness Meditation and Mindfulness Yoga under the guidance of experienced teachers. We also conduct a specially designed programme to help people who suffer from psychological conditions like depression, trauma, panic attacks and other stress related disorders through Buddhist mindfulness techhiques.

This villa is situated in a calm environment and has a panoramic view. People can watch the sunrise above the Mahaveli River and the surrounding mountain range. Samadhi Villa is a place for reflection and relaxation where time seems to stand still.

Knuckles

I invite you to cross the mystic and mystical mountains - The Knuckles Range by joining in a trek with me. I offer a standard seven day trek on the valleys of the Knuckles which is a paradise for those who enjoy and admire nature at its best.

This package includes French and English speaking trekking Guides. Accomodation in authentic country houses, trekking base camps and eco lodges. Traditional home cooked meals, picnics, tea and snacks.

Four wheel drive vehicles for safari and transportation of baggage.

Boating, safari, relaxation sessions, visits to the villages of aborigins.

This package costs 50 euros per person per day.

Eco villa is situated in a scenic eco village just 15 k.m from Kandy city.This bungalow has three bed rooms and cosy living room.There is a restaurent and a swiming pool with a panoramic view of the  surrounding mountain range.This is an ideal base to do trekking in and around Victoria golf courts or reservoir.

Peace Path

This is a short but a beautiful trekk through the tea and spice estates to a peaceful meditation center off Galaha.One can enjoy the views of the surrounding valleys  through out the journey.Prior permission is required to enter the meditation center.
Sri Lankan culture has been influenced by Buddhism and Hinduism to a great extent. The ancient traditions like Yoga, Meditation and Ayurveda are practiced by many Srilankans in their day to day lives. Although people often consider the practice of Asanas or Postures as an exercise regiment or a way to stay fit, ancient Yogis used Asanas to prepare the body for meditation. To sit for a lengthy time without any discomfort required a supple and cooperative body. Postures are mastered by freeing the body and mind from tension and restlessness and meditating on the infinite.
The therapeutic healing benefits of Yoga were recently discussed in the sphere of western Medicine. The regulation of physical movement is a fundamental priority in the nervous system. Focusing on and developing an awareness of physical movement allows the mind and body to connect. The connectedness of mind and body allow for feelings of control and understanding of their inner sensations and state of being. It is beneficial for all humans specially those suffering from psychological conditions such as Depression and PTSD  and other stress related disorders. The regular practice of Yoga helps to decrease levels of anxiety significantly. People also found evidence of improved mood and increased energy after an hour long class. A study on the effects of  Hatha Yoga showed that the emphasis on breath awareness, internal centering, relaxation and meditation enabled participants to learn to avoid mental and emotional blockages. While the healing properties of Yoga helped individuals with clinically diagnosed anxiety and depression problems, they also help people to learn to navigate and cope with daily sources of stress, and a better sense of well-being, improved concentration, self confidence and lower levels of irritability. The practitioners reported that the overall quality of life improved in addition to mood, distress, and sleep quality.
Most of the meditation techniques commonly used in Sri Lanka are based on Buddhist mindfulness  meditation techniques. There are numerous benefits of mindfulness meditation practice. It promotes physical and emotional wellbeing and increases self awareness. The practitioner of the mindfulness meditation becomes less disturbed by and less reactive to unpleasant experiences. They experience more balanced and less emotional ups and downs. These techniques develop self acceptance in the individual and improved self esteem over a period of time. Reduced blood pressure, higher immune function and reduction in physical stress responses are marked physical benefits.
